Uninstalling GamePinned

What happens to your games when you uninstall, and how to do it cleanly.

What happens to protected games

When GamePinned is uninstalled, all protection rules are automatically removed from every game folder. Your games are returned to their default state, fully accessible and removable through Steam, Epic Games, or Riot Games.

How to uninstall

  1. Open Windows Settings and go to Apps Installed apps
  2. Search for GamePinned and click Uninstall
  3. Approve the UAC prompt (admin rights are required to remove the service)
  4. The uninstaller stops the service and removes all protection rules from your game folders
  5. At the end, a prompt asks whether to remove your configuration files (license key, protected games list, blocked users, and logs stored in C:\ProgramData\GamePinned\)

Keep or remove configuration files

The uninstaller defaults to keeping your configuration files. This is the recommended choice if you plan to reinstall. Your license key, protected games list, and blocked users will all be restored automatically without needing to set everything up again.

Choose to remove them only if you want a completely clean uninstall with no files left on the system.

Note
Your games are not affected either way. All protection rules are removed before the uninstaller finishes. Games can be uninstalled normally through their launchers immediately after.
