Download and install

Download the installer from gamepinned.com. Run it and follow the prompts. The installer requires admin rights. Windows will ask for confirmation.

Windows SmartScreen
You may see a "Windows protected your PC" warning on first run. This is expected for new software and does not mean the file is unsafe. Click More info then Run anyway. A VirusTotal scan link is available on the download page for verification.
2

Set your admin password

After installation, GamePinned opens automatically and prompts you to set an admin password. This must be done before you can access any settings.

Note
This password is not your Windows account password. It's a separate password used only to lock and unlock the GamePinned settings. You can set it to anything you like, independently of any Windows credentials.
Warning
Store this password somewhere safe. If it is forgotten, it can be reset using your Windows credentials (fingerprint, PIN, or password) from the login screen.

Once set, the Dashboard opens. The sidebar on the left is how you navigate. The Platforms section (Steam, Epic Games, Riot Games, NVIDIA) is where you manage games and GPU Pinned settings, and the Management section (Users, License, Logs, Settings) is where you configure everything else.

After that, you can close the window. The service keeps running in the background. The system tray icon (bottom-right of the taskbar) shows the current status. When you open GamePinned again from the tray, it starts in read-only mode. Click Unlock and enter your admin password to make changes.

3

Your games are already detected

Click Steam, Epic Games, or Riot Games in the sidebar. The software automatically scans your system and lists every game it found for that platform. No manual setup required.

Games show as Unlocked by default. Nothing is protected until you say so.

Tip
If a game is missing, see the Troubleshooting guide.
4

Lock your first game

Select a game from the list and click Lock. That's it. Protection is applied immediately. No restart required. Speed depends on your storage drive.

A locked game can still be played, updated, and patched normally. Only uninstallation is prevented.

Free tier
The free plan lets you protect one game. To lock more, upgrade to a paid plan from the pricing page. Activate your license from License in the sidebar after purchase.
5

Choose who gets blocked

Open Users in the sidebar.

When no users are listed, all standard Windows user accounts are blocked by default. This is the recommended setting for most gaming cafes. It covers every customer account automatically, including new ones you create later.

To restrict only specific accounts, type the account name in the Account Name field and click Add. Two formats are supported:

  • COMPUTERNAME\username (local or domain accounts)
  • username@domain (Microsoft or domain accounts)

Once you add the first name, the mode shifts automatically. Only the accounts listed will be blocked. To remove an account, select it and click Remove Selected.

Important
The default (no users listed) blocks all standard Windows accounts. There is no automatic admin exemption. Any account in that group is blocked, including admin accounts that are also members of it. If you need specific accounts to stay unblocked, switch to named-user mode by adding only the customer accounts you want to restrict. Accounts not on the list are never blocked. Either way, use Maintenance Mode when you need to make changes across multiple games at once.
6

Test that it works

Log in as a standard user account (the kind your customers use) and try to uninstall a locked game. The attempt will be blocked. The game will stay installed. A notification will appear in the system tray confirming the block.

See Platforms for details on exactly what each launcher shows when a blocked uninstall is attempted.

7

Making changes to your library

To unlock a single game (for example, to remove it or let it update), go to its platform page, unlock the game, make your change, then lock it again. The rest of the library stays protected throughout.

When you need to make changes across multiple games or multiple platforms at once, use Maintenance Mode on the Dashboard instead:

  1. Open GamePinned from the system tray and unlock with your admin password
  2. Enable Maintenance Mode on the Dashboard
  3. Make your changes across Steam, Epic Games, or Riot Games
  4. Disable Maintenance Mode when done
Warning
Remember to disable Maintenance Mode when finished. While active, all locked games on the PC are unprotected across every platform.
Note
Enabling or disabling Maintenance Mode applies changes to every locked game at once. Speed depends on your storage drive. Unlocking a single game is always fast. See Maintenance Mode for full details.
